Scrum at Gigaspaces
Guy Nirpaz, VP of R&D at GigaSpaces, has outlined his company’s experience with Scrum. The short version:
- Started on 4 week sprints, now using 2 week sprints.
- Started with two scrums, now have five scrums.
- QA is included in the sprint.
- Each sprint must deliver “beta” quality product (I assume that excludes formal product release sprints).
Some areas that appear to depart from Scrum are:
- Team member performs “Customer Representative” role. No mention of a Product Owner role.
- Team leaders are the ScrumMasters, but “not all of them ‘master scrum’”.
