Scrum Certification
The Scrum certification debate has come up again on the Scrum Users mailing list. There are many opinions given in the thread, covering a wide range of views and viewpoints.
However, I though that Ken Schwaber’s comment and follow-up were significant, in that he views certification as not being about skills. It’s about being exposed to the paradigm shift required to make Scrum work.
Don’t mistake skills for capabilities and knowledge. Skills are simple. Capabilities, knowledge, insight and understanding are hard. We try to take people through three steps in the course: insights into the change and new ways, belief that they can do it, and passion to do so.
